What can I expect at our first counseling session?
After speaking on the phone and we decide to go forward, I will email you a link to my online client portal where you’ll e-sign the requisite intake documents and fill out a personal history form. I invite you to be as thorough and detailed as you’d like. Before our first session I will read over what you’ve shared.
Do you bill insurance?
I am on only one insurance panel at this time: Anthem Blue Cross. I can easily send a PDF bill to you to submit to your insurance company at the end of the month if your insurance accepts out of network providers (usually called PPO).
Do you accept debit or credit cards?
Yes! I can also process payments from Medical Savings Accounts.
Do you work with kids?
I do not, yet I’d be happy to provide referrals for kids under 18.
Do you do EMDR?
Yes! EMDR is an effective therapy for PTSD and recent trauma, disturbing memories, performance enhancement, and for couples. I have been practicing EMDR since 2014 and have attending many advanced trainings. Check out this page: https://www.emdria.org/page/emdr_therapy
Do you prescribe medication?
No. I can talk to you about what I know about medicine for depression, anxiety, mood regulation, detox, etc. I consult with and refer to many local psychiatrists, psychologists, and physicians to manage and prescribe the appropriate medicine to help relieve symptoms.
