Job Description

Highland Consulting Group, a national executive recruiting firm specializing in top construction talent, is partnering with a well-established General Contractor in the Newark, NJ area to find an experienced Project Manager .


This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to manage ground-up and fit-out projects from award to closeout, with minimal travel required, as most projects are within a reasonable commute.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all phases of assigned construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure on-time completion.
  • Efficiently estimate, negotiate, and track change orders.
  • Manage project budgets and approve all related expenses.
  • Handle contract administration and oversee subcontractor/equipment buyouts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for project owners and stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed project records and oversee closeout documentation.
  • Conduct punch-list inspections alongside superintendents and owners.
  • Foster strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial and institutional construction projects valued at $10M+.
  • Proven ability to develop timelines, manage budgets, and negotiate change orders.
  • Strong leadership and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Experience leading multi-discipline team meetings effectively.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required-strong industry experience will be highly considered.
