Senior Salesforce Developer – Contract (Right to Hire) Newark, NJ – 3 days per week Overview As a Platform Engineer, you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals to improve the Salesforce platform. You will code, test and debug new and existing applications, implementing capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems. You will deliver innovative products, services, and experiences while applying best practices in agile ways of working and continuous learning. Responsibilities Liaise between business analysts, the internal systems team, and external vendors to develop solutions that meet business requirements. Conduct full programming tasks including design, development, testing, and documentation for complex projects on the Salesforce platform. Create and maintain technical documentation related to solutions developed. Keep abreast of Salesforce initiatives and technology trends that impact the business. Provide daily support to end users, managing issue resolution and performing root‑cause analysis. Manage system issues appropriately and, when necessary, escalating to senior management. Facilitate system testing, working with business analysts to identify test cases, develop test scripts, and conduct test execution. Act as a subject‑matter expert in Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and related applications. Assist in coordinating production releases, working toward an agile delivery methodology. Write unit, integration, and functional automation tests; research problems discovered by quality assurance or product support and develop solutions. Bring an applied understanding of emerging technologies, identify opportunities to provide input to the team, and coach others. Work on complex problems that require in‑depth evaluation of analytical or data factors. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of proven experience designing and developing custom solutions using Apex, Lightning, batch Apex, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs. Advanced knowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms. Experience integrating Salesforce with AWS and other external apps (REST, JSON, Event Streaming, Core Java, Spring Boot, etc.). Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Knowledge of Salesforce development best practices and agile development methodologies, including Test‑Driven Development. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
