EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a proven approach to treat symptoms borne of past trauma. It’s a systematic method to process the past, while staying in the present with your therapist and in your body, and for setting a new course for your future. Preparation for EMDR is crucial and we’ll find ways to settle your nervous system before going into processing past events. I blend EMDR with my usual approach to therapy: a blend of being relational, empathic, validating, challenging, and— always— kind.
I completed the basic training in 2014 and have employed EMDR therapy with many, many clients. I believe in EMDR’s power to promote change and more well-being.
